Dodge vans – great vehicles for those who have family and friends

The decision to buy a dodge van can be a great solution for people who need a vehicle for more than one person.

A dodge van is thus extremely popular among families and most definitely it’s also great for yours! If you need to take your children to school in the morning or to sport events in the afternoon, if you like to go shopping with your whole family or if you like making trips with more than one generation on board, then a dodge van can be the ideal vehicle for you! Also people who frequently make overland trips with friends, for example for casual and social weekend getaways, for going to concerts together or for taking several friends to a spontaneous vacation at the seaside will profit a lot from owning a dodge van. A dodge van offers a lot of space for several people and their belongings and if you have a family, you know for sure how much storage you actually need to transport everybody’s luggage. Especially if you have children, you have certainly found yourself struggling with finding sufficient storage. With a dodge van, however, finding space for everyone and everything won’t be a problem and you can enjoy every single trip you take.

Thank you picture Dodge vans form internet.

What Are the Cheapest Cars to Insure For Teenagers? - Best Tips and List of Cars

If you're thinking about buying a new or used car for your teen or teenager no matter if they are 16 years old or 19 years old, there are a few cars that you can usually insure cheaper than others. So what are the cheapest cars to insure for teenagers or student drivers?

Dodge Vans

Generally, cars that are more expensive will cost you more for car insurance and lesser expensive cars will cost less. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule. Even if a car is older and is a less expensive car, it should cost you less to insure it. Cars made in the U.S. are cheaper to insure than cars manufactured in other countries. 4-door cars, cars with 4 cylinder motors and minivans are cheaper to insure also.

Of course, the most popular car among teenagers is the Honda Civic. It ranks high in the safety ratings and insuring it is usually low. It's a good car because it's also economical and easy to operate. However, the Honda Civic, the Ford Focus, and the Saturn models below are still relatively light and not good from a safety standpoint. Other popular cars include the Mazda3, Toyota Corolla and Mitsubishi Lancer.

I wouldn't buy cars for teens that are smaller than those above. They're just not safe. The larger the car the safer it usually is. My mother was a nurse and worked in the emergency room for years and she told us that she could always tell if someone was driving a small car when someone came in who'd been injured in an automobile accident, by the severity of the injuries. Small cars don't do well in rollovers either.

Other good choices would be the Honda Accord, Ford Taurus, Nissan Maxima and Toyota Camry. Because they are larger cars, they are safer cars. They are economical to run and insurance rates are good or cheap depending on the insurance company.

Small SUV's are not good for teens because of the possibility of a rollover. The center of gravity is higher. Teens are not experienced drivers and may tend to overreact in emergency situations.

So for a partial cars and vehicles, that are low cost or cheap to insure, the following vehicles with makes and models would fit that bill. Keep in mind the safety tips mentioned above and try to buy a new or used car for your teen that will be safe also. Some may no longer be made such as Saturn but there may be used vehicles around.

Honda Civic, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Mitsubishi Lancer, Chrysler PT Cruiser 4-door wagon, GMC Safari SLE AWD 3-door minivan, Dodge Caravan SE 4-door minivan, Saturn ION 1 4-door sedan, Pontiac Sunfire 2-door coupe, Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD 4-door SUV, Saturn L300 1 4-door sedan, Volvo S40 4-door sedan, Saab 38600 Linear 3t 4-door Sportwagon, Buick Century Special Edition 4-door sedan.

Keep in mind when you go over this partial list of cars, minivans and SUV's that are cheapest to insure, that local rates, discounts and quotes may vary depending on what part of the U.S. you live in whether it's Texas, New York, Florida or any other state. Make sure to get several quotes before making your final decision. You may find a rate that seems to be cheap but keep checking until you're sure you have the cheapest auto insurance quote. You can get several online quotes from several car insurance companies all at once in just a couple of minutes.

Are You Looking For a Used Dodge Minivan For Sale?

Are you looking for a used Dodge minivan? I was and in my search I had to go online to purchase one. Let me explain how I came across my used minivan. A few years ago I found a 1993 used Dodge Caravan for sale which I bought for 0 with 130,000 miles on it. The tires were fair and it was not in bad shape as far as the body was concerned. I loved driving that Dodge minivan and put another 30,000 miles on it with nothing more than normal upkeep expenses. In fact I would still be driving that baby if an Orkin truck had not run a stop sign. I t-boned that pick-up and rolled him over. My Dodge minivan's airbag went off and the seat belt harness worked like a charm. I was able to walk away with only minor cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, my Dodge minivan was totaled!

Dodge Vans

I decided rather than replace the Dodge minivan I would buy a small pick-up with the money I got for the accident. Big mistake! Although the truck has done what I wanted it too I was just not happy without my minivan. That little Dodge was so nice to drive and the fuel mileage was great especially compared to the pick-up.

I began to search for a used Dodge minivan for sale in my price range. I figured somewhere between a 1993 and 1999 would work. Trying to find what I wanted turned out to be far more difficult than I expected it to be. I finally went to the internet to locate what I was looking for.

I eventually ended up purchasing a Plymouth Voyager which of course is identical to the Dodge minivan. I love it and am so glad that I am finally back driving a vehicle that is actually fun to drive. Yes, you heard that right there is a minivan that is fun to drive and extremely reliable. When I am not driving the Dodge minivan I am riding my Harley Davidson Fatboy which is way more fun.

So if you find a used Dodge minivan for sale, (or Plymouth Voyager) grab it right away don't let it slip through your fingers.

Dodge Sprinter - The Different Types of Sprinter Models

Are you a small business owner that needs a utility vehicle for your everyday operations? Whether you are a plumber, an exterminator or a florist, you need a reliable yet roomy and safe way of getting your goods and services to your customers.

Dodge Vans

Not a business owner? Maybe you just have a large family and you need a vehicle to get them from point A to point B with as little drama as possible. What could these two scenarios possible have in common? Easy - the Dodge Sprinter is the best.

There are three models that fulfill whatever your needs are. Here's an overview and highlights to help you choose the right one:

Passenger Van

If you have a large family or in an occupation where you need to move a lot of people like a church youth group, a Dodge Sprinter passenger van is just what you need. There are two styles in the 2500 model group - a standard roof which is 144 inches and the high roof which is 170 inches. They all come standard as a 3.0 liter V-6 turbo diesel automatic, but you can opt for standard transmission.

The diesel gets better mileage, but you can also opt for gas engine. Either way, the mileage is better than the competitors. 12-passenger seating is standard so you know there is plenty of room for a big crowd. Of course they come with 4-wheel ABS system, traction control and stability control, but there are a myriad of other safety and performance features to choose from. You can make this van a safe ride for your group outings.

Cargo Van

The 3500 and 2500 are the cargo van models. The 3500 has a payload of 9,990 lbs while the 2500 has one of 8,550. It comes standard with the high roof of 170 inches so you will have plenty of room to maneuver as you load and unload your equipment or packages. The 3.0 liter V-6 turbo diesel automatic transmission is standard on this model.

As with the passenger van, the diesel gets better gas mileage so your time on the road doesn't eat into your profits too much. The spacious cargo area is ready for you to personalize it to fit your business needs. You can add shelving, benches and anything else that makes storing your equipment easy. There is an extended version of the Dodge Sprinter cargo van if you require more cargo space for larger loads.

Chassis Cab

Like the passenger van, there are two roof heights - 144 inches and 170 inches. They all have a 3.0 liter V-6 turbo diesel automatic transmission and a gross vehicle weight of 11,030 lbs. The chassis cab comes with the same safety features like ABS, stability control and traction control as the other models. There are a lot of other features to make your life easier as you get your business done.

The Dodge Sprinter is more expensive than its competitors, but you get more for your money. They believe in offering luxury, safety and comfort while still providing the function of a utility vehicle. Whether you are moving people or cargo, in the long run, this is an economical and efficient way to do it.

Solutions to Your Common Car Problems

Like all of us, cars occasionally get sick as well; thus, they need to be regularly checked and maintained to keep them in proper working condition as much as possible. Keeping your vehicle in tip-top shape and condition--whether it's a regular passenger car, a truck, a sport utility or a van--may require you to change some of its auto parts, especially if your vehicle is an older model. Car parts wear out over time so you would need to upgrade them or replace them with higher quality parts.

Dodge Vans

This is where Auto Parts Deal can be of great help to you. This leading auto parts dealer provides the best options for your replacement part needs. The store offers top of the line BMW parts, Mercedes Benz parts, Ford truck parts, Chevrolet parts and so much more. Today's featured products include OEM-quality body and exterior auto parts like hood, bumpers, doors, fender, spoilers, wheels and headlights. These parts are exposed to a lot of damaging factors so they need to be properly maintained. The wheels specially are the ones closest to the road so they must be kept in perfect condition all the time.

Explore the store's web site to know more of these products and also for you to see Auto Parts Deal's wider range of auto parts. Meanwhile, you can check the following automotive information, which you may need as you maintain your vehicle.

Auto Parts Deal imparts to you some technical know-how on common car problems. Before you proceed to buy your replacement parts, check if these signs and symptoms are present in your car's systems and parts.

Overheating. You would know your car is overheating when steam starts to billow from your engine compartment. There are many reasons why a car overheats; one could be the lack of water and coolant in the cooling system. Furthermore, there could be some damages to the cooling system parts like the radiator, the water pump and the gaskets. Your car may also be overloaded so you need to unload some of your cargoes.

In case you need replacement radiators, you can go to Auto Parts Deal. Available are hard wearing and high quality Ford radiators, Chevrolet radiators, GMC radiators, Jeep radiators and Honda radiators.

Starting Failure. If your engine fails to start, there could be something wrong with the ignition system. The starter could be damaged and needs to be replaced. Also, check the fuel filter. Even when not specified in your manual, you need to replace the fuel filter often, not just clean it, to ensure that your engine is getting clean fuel for combustion. This further ensures your vehicle's maximum performance.

Brake failure. If your brake fails to hold and you hear screeching sound, better go to a mechanic immediately and have your brake checked. Faulty brakes are among the major causes of car accidents so don't wait for another day to go to a repair shop. Moreover, check your tires and wheels.

Rust and Corrosion. Over time, some parts of your car may wear out due to rust. This is especially true to body panels, including the doors, the hood, and the fenders. Rust is not good for your car since it could depreciate the value of your vehicle. The best way to avoid it is to clean your vehicle regularly.

If your body parts have been severely damaged by rust, you may have no other choice but to replace them. Keeping them good looking is a must, especially if still wish to resell it in the future in case you would want to buy a new and more up-to-date model. You can check out the store's featured exterior parts and body panels such as Toyota doors, Ford hood and Honda fender.

Replacement wheels can be bought at Auto Parts Deal as well. Remanufactured and new alloy and steel wheels with or without hubcaps, including best quality Jeep wheels, Mazda wheels, BMW wheels and Toyota wheels are available.

Car Games

Be it bumper to bumper traffic, or a ride to Grandma's house-- long car rides can do a number on any group of people, specifically families. The following is a list of some car games to consider playing with the whole gang!

Dodge Vans

The ABC Game is popular with a younger crowd, as it only requires knowledge of the alphabet. To play, each person in the car must try and complete the entire alphabet by identifying letters they see on license plates or billboards. When a letter is located, it is called out, and then eliminated. The first person to complete the entire alphabet wins.

A fun game that I especially enjoy is called "Word Justifying". One person in the car is the leader, and the others are the players. Each person thinks of a word. The players announce their words first, and then the leader announces his word at the end. The players then each take turns justifying why their word is most related to the leader's word. A winner is chosen, and the winner becomes the new leader.

When you are driving for a long period of time in the country or in other rural areas, it may be fun to play games involving the animals you see along the way. Assign points to each kind of animal. For instance, cows are worth two points, cats worth one, farm animals worth four or five, and so on. The first person in the car that reaches twenty is the winner.

Variations on twenty questions can always be fun, and occupy lots of time. Someone in the car chooses to be a person, place, or thing. Everyone else in the car can ask that person up to twenty 'yes or no' questions about it in the hopes of narrowing down their guesses enough to the point where they can figure it out! Whoever guesses correctly is the next person to be grilled.

Music games can be fun, and also test trivia knowledge in the car. Someone hums a part of a television show theme or score to a movie, and everyone else takes turns guessing which song it is. Whoever guesses correctly is next! For older or more enthusiastic players, try seeing who can recite all the lyrics to a song instead of guessing the title.

The Cow Game is another classic, and can be altered easily based on what's most fun. Ideally, the car is split into sides, and each side counts as many cows on their end as possible. Whenever a cemetery is passed, the side of the car it is on loses all their points and has to start over. Whoever has the most points by the end wins!

This is post-produced footage from my new camera. I was experimenting with various effects in Final Cut Express 4, and ended up using about five for this shot. Conversion Vans Vs Mini Motorhome (Class B RV)

Conversion Vans vs. Mini Motorhome (Class B RV)
How many people know the difference between a Conversion Van, Camper Van, or Mini-Motorhome? Knowing the differences can help an individual make "Good Purchase Decisions". The right Van can be your daily transportation or RV. The differences become important for simple reasons like:How much will it cost me to insure my vehicle?

Dodge Vans

How do I determine a fair "Blue Book" price to buy or sell? Does my neighborhood association allow me to park my Van at Home? Safety: Is my Vehicle Crash Tested by a Government Agency? Who will service my Van when I need repairs or maintenance?

Conversion Vans are not Motorhomes, but they can offer many of the features of a Motorhome. So let us clear up the differences!

Keep in mind there is room to stretch from one class of vehicle to another; and there is no defacto industry definition; just guidelines. Search the listings at RVTRADER.com and you'll find many Class C's mixed into the Class B listings not to mention the Class B's in the Bus Conversions. You'll even find ordinary Conversion Vans in the mix. It seems people really don't know what they have! Confusing isn't it? We love vans and own several different types and is how we at Conversion-Vans.NET define the Vehicle Classes.

Cargo Van - A Cargo van is a vehicle provided direct from the Manufacture with no rear seats, carpeting, or windows. These vans can be "Up fitted or Converted" to meet the needs of a variety of purposes. Camper Van - This is the simple conversion of a stock cargo van to add features helpful for "camping". So a Camper Van is any van that has been converted for the purpose of camping - simple enough! Yes and No. There is no such thing as a commercial "Camper Van" - unless you get outside of the USA where the nomenclature changes. Camper Vans are typically "Homemade" modifications. A Class B Motorhome can be Called a Camper Van if you please, but you can not call a Camper Van a Class B Motorhome unless it has some very specific features! (See next) Class B Motorhome (Class B RV) - Any full fledged Motorhome built on a Cargo Van Chassis by a licensed up fitter. The van may have the top removed or the sides widened, but it is still essentially a van in size and shape. Additionally in order to qualify as a Class B Motorhome the van must have built-in sleeping, eating, and bathroom facilities (Including properly mounting fresh and grey water holding tanks). If the frame of the van has been cut down clear to the floor level (they come direct from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge this way - just a frame and a cab) and built up completely from the floor it's a Class "C" not a Class "B". Conversion Van (aka Luxury Van, Custom Van) - Any van that has been customized for comfort can be considered a conversion van. These are really luxury vehicles used to transport 6-10 people in comfort. Conversion vans can have some of the features of a "Camper Van" or even a "Class B Motorhome", but are typically more upscale and designed for daytime use and luxury transportation. These vans may have a raised roof, fancy paintjob, Custom Wheels, Leather Seats, 4 Captains chairs, dual stereo, TV/VCR Combos etc. Mini C's & B+'s - These are really Class "C" Motorhomes masquerading as Class B Motorhomes. They feature sleek aerodynamic body styles - often made of a single fiberglass shell. The Chinook line of Motorhomes by TrailWagons, Inc. is probably the best example. These are also sometimes referred to as B+ Vans. They are in fact built from the same chassis as a Class C, but are made more to look like a Call B. Confusing? Ultimately it doesn't matter, as long as you find what you want.

So there you have it! The Van is an incredibly versatile mode of transportation that can be "converted" to suit the needs of a variety of individuals and purposes. Vans offer large storage capacity for hauling cargo to completely self contained luxury travel. So don't just rush out and get a giant RV until you have considered a Conversion Van or Class B RV.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan - etrailer.com

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan - etrailer.com Video Clips. Duration : 2.85 Mins.

www.etrailer.com Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to install part number 13364 from Curt. We are going to install this on a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. We will go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up onto the vehicle and give you an idea of what is going on. The hitch bolts up onto the frame right here: these one, two, three points. And the hitch is going to use the existing hardware, too. On the other side it is a little more different. We have got to take down the exhaust to give us some working room, get those bolts out, and then slide the hitch in there, of course. One thing to know is, when you undo these bolts for the bumper brackets it will tilt up. If you are careful enough, they will stay in place, but they will just tilt up. So it is a good idea to do the rearmost bolts first, to get the hitch installed, and then snug them down where it brings the rest of the bracket inside the frame down level so you can actually thread the rest of the bolts in. OK, when you get the hitch into position, like I said, with just the two rear bolts, make sure you move the hitch around so it clears the AC lines that are underneath here. OK, starting from the rear to the front, tighten this one down that brings the bracket a little bit closer, where you can start getting the threads on this one, which brings it down even more. And then you get down to the last one, here ...

Motorhome Gas Mileage - Now More of a Concern Than Ever

Motor homes are very popular amusements for wealthy people, because not only is it a vehicle, it's also a livable space. With gas prices rising as they have been, however, they're not as affordable because they're so large and it takes more gasoline to move them. Some motor home companies are conscious of this fact, and therefore they compete with one another to get the best motor home gas mileage. Regardless of what option you choose, it's expensive, being a motor home but it's still very worth looking into if you own and drive a motor home.

Dodge Vans

The first motor home is a Fleetwood. This is a very solid company well-known for making quality motor homes. The mileage on it is quite slim - less than 7 miles. The length of the entire vehicle is 40 feet, and is very solidly constructed. The towing vehicle is a Ford, so there's little worry for quality there. Anything Ford-constructed is going to be very resilient and durable, and the engine in the towing vehicle is high-quality. Overall a good choice for a motor home even if it's lower on gas mileage than the rest. Generally people are going to look at gas mileage first these days when buying a vehicle of any sort, even a motor home.

The next one, a Four Winds model, is built by Dodge, another American company. This motor home has excellent mileage, at 16-17 miles per gallon. It's not known just how it gets that much distance, but apparently the motor home isn't as large as some of the others seen. Also, the ride is very smooth - some motor homes can be bumpy depending on the surface, but this one is a little more cushioned in the tires. Dodge's products are very dependable, much like Ford's, but Dodge, it seems, has better gas mileage, which is a very important thing in today's economy.

A third one that we looked at is another Ford model. It gets approximately 12-15 miles per gallon, which is an average amount. This is a very comfortable home with lots of amenities. It travels on the road quite smoothly, with few problems maneuvering or turning even on the toughest of mountain roads. This Ford model is best for its maneuverability, but as far as gas mileage it's not the very best that could be found - there are other motor homes with more.

These three motor homes have slightly differing motor home gas mileage, all pretty much within the same range give or take a few miles. If you're trying to pick the one with the best gas mileage, go with Four Winds, for almost 30 miles per gallon. The Fleetwood is the most solidly constructed, and the other Ford model is the most luxurious. It all depends on your preference, but the Four Winds has the most motor home gas mileage. As motor homes these days take a lot to maintain and run them, gas mileage is probably your most important concern when deciding to make a purchase or trade-in.

How to Open the Hood With a Broken Hood Release Cable

When you pull the hood release lever in your vehicle, you are pulling on a cable, just like the brake or shift cables on a bicycle.  When the vehicle gets older, and you are under the hood every week to add oil, the cable will eventually wear out and break.  So how do you get the hood open without the cable?  My experience was with a 1991 Chevrolet S10 Blazer, but the technique I used may be applicable to other vehicles.

Dodge Vans

The only tools required are a set of pliers, a good work light, and some heavy aluminum wire.  The aluminum wire is about twice the thickness of spaghetti, and the stuff I used was 8 gage aluminum ground wire from Radio Shack.  The advantage of aluminum is that it is soft enough to work like a string, but stiff enough to create a hook.  It also is easily workable with your fingers.  If you don't have that, a coat hanger may do.

Set the work light down low so that it shines up through the grill at your latch.  In the case of my Blazer, all I could see was the metal casing for the latch.  No portion of the mechanism was visible.  Here is where a mental picture becomes important.  The cable provides a pulling action.  You must hook your aluminum wire close to where the cable connects to the mechanism, and then pull in a direction as close to that of the cable as possible.  If you don't know what the mechanism looks like, try and find a picture, or find a similar vehicle and examine its mechanism.

In the case of the Blazer, the business end of the cable connects near the front-center part of the case that encloses the mechanism.  Make a hook by bending the last 1/4 inch of the wire at a 90 degree angle with the pliers.  The aluminum wire can be bent very easily with your bare hands into as many compound angles as needed to make a tool that will reach the end of the mechanism.

It took me about 10 minutes and about four tries pulling to finally hook the mechanism.  When you think that you have it, apply some downward pressure to the top of the hood.  This will compress the latch spring, and hopefully take some pressure off of the mechanism so that it opens easily.  Then, pull steadily on your wire.  If you have hooked the mechanism, you will feel it give as the latch operates, and then you can stop pushing down on the hood, and try to lift it up.

Once you get it open, you can replace the latch cable.  This can be expensive and time consuming, so if you don't care about how it looks, you can run the aluminum wire out through the grill as a new hood release.  In my Blazer, I ran a double length, and then bent it in half at the loop on the mechanism, so I have a double-strength pull.  The softness of the aluminum is what allows this to work.

Finally, be sure to grease your latch mechanism well, and also the spring latch on the hood, so that the latch will open as easily as possible.  The hood may have rubber leveling feet at each of its corners.  If you let these out too far, it will make for a nice, stable hood, but it will put too much pressure on the latch, making it difficult to open, and leading to premature cable failure.

How To Replace Front Wheel Bearings - You Can Do That

Recently the right front wheel bearing went bad on my 2002 Mazda 626. Apparently my oldest daughter hit a large pot hole bending the wheel and damaging the wheel bearing. I noticed a slight hum in the front end with a slight shutter as well, I thought that the tires needed to be balances and rotated, so I took it into the shop to be checked out. Well to my surprise I was told the bad news and what was worse was the amount they wanted to charge - over 0 to fix bearing and to replace the wheel. That is when I decided to do it myself.

Dodge Vans

Below I will help you by listing the tools you will need and steps on how to get it done.

Things you will need:

Large adjustable wrench

Channelocks

Bearing race driver tool

Various size punches

Socket and ratchet set

Assorted wrenches

A rags or two

New wheel bearings

Wheel bearing grease

New cotter pin

New grease seals

Wheel blocks

Safety glasses

A jack and a pair of jack stands

Even if the bearings are not making a noise it is always a good idea to have them inspected every 30,000 miles. I have it done when my breaks are replaced.

Okay let's get started.

Get all of your tools and supplies together before you begin and allow plenty of time to do the job.

Please take note that these are general instructions and consult the appropriate repair manual for your vehicle.

Always think safety first whenever you're working around machinery. Wear safety classes to protect your eyes and beware of hot objects, sharp items and hazardous materials. It is very, very important to never work on a car that is only supported by a jack, always place a sturdy foundation under the vehicle to prevent it from falling on you.

From this point on cleanliness is important. You do not want any dirt, sand or metal chips inside the hub.

1. Remove your disc brake calipers and caliper bridge to remove the rotor.

2. Remove the bearing cap. This is a press fit and to remove it grab it with your channelocks and work it back and forth until it pops off. Be careful not to crush it.

3. Once the cap is off you will see a cotter pin, remove the cotter pin and remove the retainer ring. If your vehicle has a castellated nut, you will not have a retaining ring.

4. Using your channelocks or adjustable wrench, remove the nut from the spindle.

5. Next remove the outer wheel bearing and washer.

6. Slide the rotor or drum off the spindle.

7. Remove the grease seal and take out the inner wheel bearing.

8. Wipe all the old grease from inside the hub.

9. Remove the bearing races from the hub.

10. Take a punch with a flat narrow tip and place it on the back of the race.

11. Tap the race out, alternating from side to side so it comes out evenly and doesn't get cocked in the hub.

12. Once it's out, flip the rotor or drum over and do the same for the other race.

13. Clean the inside of the hub with some rags.

14. Make sure the spindle is clean as well.

That's all there is to it. Like I mentioned earlier take your time and you will not get frustrated, good luck with your project.

Rock Stars' Cars To Appear At Henry Ford Museum

The American public has always loved its music and its cars, and they even love those cars of people who created the music they love. The Henry Ford Museum will cater to the whim of the public who have been longing for those famous vehicles which famous stars used in the past.

Dodge Vans

The exhibit dubbed as the Rock Stars' Cars and Guitars will take place in June 9 of this year at the Henry Ford Museum located in Dearborn, Michigan. The exhibit will showcase eighteen cars which are as legendary as the people who once drove them. The soul of rock and roll will be bared to the public with the unveiling of the cars which includes the rides of Elvis Presley and John Lennon among others.

Aside from cars, the exhibit will also feature a wide variety of guitars that were once used by rock and roll superstars.

The exhibit will showcase cars, guitars, and motorcycles on loan from other museums and private individuals. The Petersen Automotive Museum, the Hard Rock Café, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum Inc. are the natural homes of the cars and guitars to be shown at the exhibit on the ninth of June. Christian Overland, the Vice President of Museums and Collections for The Henry Ford Museum, has this to say about the exhibit: "Rock & roll and custom-car culture are important expressions of American freedom and individualism. This exhibition presents an opportunity to see some of the iconic cars of rock & roll and understand the artistic expressions of the stars."

Among the eighteen cars to be showcased at the event is the 1965 Rolls Royce Phantom V owned by the immortal Beatles member John Lennon. True to the age where Lennon grew up, the car is pained in a psychedelic floral motif. This will surely have people silently singing "Imagine".

Another legendary car which will make an appearance at the exhibit is the 1949 Cadillac custom designed by blues rock band ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons. The car is dubbed as the "CadZZilla" and is one of the most recognized hot rods in the rock world.

Another legendary car that will be showcased at the aforementioned event is the 1971 De Tomaso Pantera formerly owned by Elvis Presley. The popularity of the car is attributed to a bullet hole shot into the car by the King himself.

Another vehicle that will make an appearance at the event is the 1932 Ford Coupe "Silver Sapphire" which became famous when it appeared on the cover of another rock and roll icon - the Beach Boys' album. The Silver Sapphire was featured in the cover of the "Little Deuce Coupe" album of the popular rock and roll band.

Another 1932 vehicle from Ford also made it to the exhibit. The Ford model in question is the 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Phaeton hot rod. The hot rod became popular when it was used by hard rock band Van Halen on the music video for their song "Hot for Teacher". At the end of the music video, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth smoked the tires of the car as he sped away from the school.

These vehicles have become a part of the auto industry in the fact that they have generated interest on cars during their tenure as the ride of the rich and famous. All these cars have been known for their performance and the use of aftermarket parts, although it is highly improbable that a Nissan cold air intake system was used on any of those cars.
